November, November, where did you go? The month has passed by here in a blur of activity. It has been a month of making new acquaintances and reconnecting with established ones – and we have loved every moment of having guests through our door. It has been a month of remembrance and commemoration and we have been able to do what we love doing best – looking after people whilst they explore The Somme.
So, what has inspired us this November?

The weather has turned decidedly colder, mistier, wetter. After a sweet October, November blew in with a wintry breath, as if to say you’ve had your fill of warmth and softness, I will bring a chilly, harder bite. But even so, the light has sometimes been exquisite and the mists bring a surreal, ethereal beauty as we look across our beautiful landscape.
